Rosella Paige
Rosella May Paige, 89, of Dike died July 29 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. Funeral services were August 1 at the Dike United Methodist Church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Rosella was born on May 9, 1923, in Dike the daughter of William H. and Amy Diekman Conradi. She graduated from Dike High School in 1940. Rosella attended Iowa State Teacher's College for one year and then graduated from AIB in Des Moines. She married Charles B. Paige on June 21, 1945, in the Methodist Church in Dike.
Rosella started her career as a secretary in the education department at Iowa State Teacher's College. After marrying she spent many years as a homemaker and then worked for 13 years as a secretary to the superintendent of Dike High School. In later years she was a secretary for Ed Wilson of Waterloo. Rosella enjoyed her numerous part time jobs at Breezy Point Resort in Minnesota and Arizona. The last 12 years she spent her life in Dike with her family and friends. Her hobbies included bridge, Jumble, crocheting, playing the piano and traveling.
Rosella and Charles attended the United Methodist Church in Dike and have been churchgoing all their years together.
Rosella is survived by her husband, Charles, of 67 years; two daughters, Suzan Bienfang of Grundy Center, Diane Paige of Dike; son, Joel (Chris) of Hubbard; seven grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Camarata, Patricia (Omid) Amjadi, Martin Camarata, Amy (Chad) Bullock, Audrey (Levi) Sires, Amber Paige, Lucas (Haley) Paige; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria (Jim) Gerstenkorn of Dike; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Clarence and Josephine Bowers, and son-in-law, Jack Bienfang.
