Kirby J. Erpelding, 39

Kirby J. Erpelding, 39, of Ft. Morgan, CO, formerly of Dike, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, of injuries sustained from an auger related accident at his livestock operation in Ft. Morgan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the United Methodist church, Dike, with interment in the Elmwood Cemetery also in Dike. Friends may call at the Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and at the church Saturday for an hour prior to service time. Memorials may be directed to the Erpelding children's education fund.

He was born Jan. 12, 1961, in Grundy Center the son of Larry J. and Annette D. (Dreessen) Erpelding. Mr. Erpelding graduated from the Dike Community School system in 1979 and attended the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, for three years where he was active in R.O.T.C.

He was united in marriage to Deanna J. Dorinek June 18, 1988, in Littleton, CO. He currently owned and operated a hog operation and was an electrician with Hamlin Electric Company both in Ft. Morgan.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Kristopher J. and Matthew J. Erpelding all of 17851 County Road L, Ft. Morgan, CO 80701; his mother, Annette D. Erpelding of Dike; a brother, James A. Erpelding of Cedar Falls; maternal grandmother, Helen Dreessen of Gladbrook; and paternal step-grandmother, Lois Erpelding of Lakeland, FL.

He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandfather, Harry Dreessen; and paternal grandparents, James and Julia Erpelding.

Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, was in charge of the arrangements.
