Neva Heritage Services Wed.

Neva Heritage, of Dike, passed away Saturday, December 30, 1995, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa, of natural causes, having attained the age of 83 years and 4 months.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 1996, at the United Methodist Church in Dike, Iowa, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Rick Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Friends may call at the Dike Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., and at the church one hour prior to the services.

Pallbearers are Duane Habben, Kevin Hemmen, John McCarter, Gloy Mead, Duane Mueller, and Robert Stewart.

Born August 31, 1912, in Defiance, Iowa, Neva was the daughter of Albert and Hannah (Hulsebus) Mueller. She graduated from LeMars High School. Neva taught school in several Iowa communities, including Alden, Correctionville, and Kingsley. On November 10, 1940, she was united in marriage to Jack Heritage at Morning Star Church in Washta, Iowa.

Neva was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Dike, where she was a member and past-president of the United Methodist Women, and sang in the church choir. She also served a past-matron of the New Hartford Chapter of Eastern Star, past-president of the Grundy County American Legion Auxiliary, and as past-president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #471 in Dike, where she was Chaplain for over 50 years.

Neva was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Marnie Lee Fecht; two sisters, Bonita Paulin, and Eleanor Oldiges; and two brothers, Donald and Norman Muller.

Survivors include her husband Jack of Dike; three children, Betty Roach of Las Vegas, Nevada, Barry Heritage of Santa Rosa, California, and Penny Heritage of Blue Springs, Missouri; one granddaughter, Cheryl Roach; and one great-grandson, Patrick Roach.

A memorial fund has been established. The Dike Funeral Chapel, Dike, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
