Rites Held For Twyla Messenbrink

Twyla Mesenbrink passed away Saturday, June 14, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 17, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Dike. Rev. Rick Johnson and Rev. Larry Hoop officiated. Interment was at the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

Pallbearers were Dale Wigg, Glenn Wigg, Charles Boeck, David Boeck, Ben Meyer and Darrell Long. Honorary pallbearers were Al Bosse and Richard Schlimmer.

Twyla Elaine Mesenbrink was born July 27, 1934, in Denison, the daughter of Ole J. and Marie C. (Christensen) Wigg. She graduated from Schleswig High School in 1952.

Twyla and Jarvis L. Mesenbrink were united in marriage March 21, 1954 in Schleswig. Jarvis died January 28, 1994. She was currently Assistant City Clerk for the city of Dike and had retired in December from Ubben Lumber Company also in Dike.

Twyla is survived by 2 daughters, Toni Arends and Christina Zenor, both of Cedar Falls; 4 sons, Tim, Todd and Troy, all of Dike, and Travis of Washburn; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Torri, Josh, Brittney Arends, David, Clint and Benjamin Mesenbrink, Amie, Kurt and Clint Schmitz, Jacquelyn and Sadie Mesenbrink; a brother, Edward Wigg of Schleswig; and her sister, Vera Schlimmer of Cedar Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and 1 sister, Helen Haltsch.
