Beryl Alberts Services Held

Beryl L. Alberts, of Dike, passed away Monday, July 26, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo having attained the age of 67 years, 8 months and 10 days.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 29, at the United Methodist Church in Dike at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Thelma C. Subramanian officiating.

Pallbearers were Marlin Klar, Keith Klar, Paul Schreck, John Schreck, Marvin Hinders and Duane Lindaman.

Burial followed at the Elmwood Cemetery in Dike.

A memorial fund has been established.

Beryl was born November 16, 1925, in Iowa City the daughter of Lloyd and Dena (Lindaman) Long. She received her education in Grundy Center, graduating from Grundy Center High School in 1944. On February 14, 1952, she was united in marriage to Glenn Alberts at the United Methodist Church parsonage in Dike. Beryl and Glenn lived and farmed in the Dike area.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dike. Her hobbies included gardening and canning.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Long in 1945 and by her mother, Dena Long in 1987.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn and one daughter, Sheri and husband Roger Johnson of Cook, Nebraska.

The Dike Funeral Chapel, Dike, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
