Rites Held For Edward Willms

Edward A. Willms, 67, of 1821 Primrose Drive, died Wednesday, March 10, at Covenant Medical Center hospice unit, Waterloo, of cancer.

He was born Oct. 31, 1925, in Grundy County, son of William and Grace Muller Willms. He married Virginia L. Hansen on June 12, 1949, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Willms was a supervisor at Viking Pump Co. from 1950 to 1985, when he retired. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines and with the Occupation Forces in Japan.

Survivors include his wife; a son Larry D. of Dike; a daughter, Cherri D. Hills of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren; his mother of Dike; four brothers, Elmer of Dike, Jim of Parkersburg, Dean of Rockton, Ill., and Don of Sioux City; and a sister, Darlene Smoldt of Grundy Center. He was preceded in death by his father in 1980.

Services were held Friday at First Baptist Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
