Leslie Posekany Dies Suddenly

Leslie "Bud" A. Posekany, 51, of 203 Highland Dr., Cedar Falls, died very suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday night, July 21. He passed away at 9:40 p.m. at the Sartori Memorial hospital.

Funeral services were Wednesday morning at 10:30 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof funeral home in Cedar Falls. Rev. Dick Millstaugh, First United Methodist church, officiated. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery, Dike.

Leslie Posekany was born Dec. 6, 1922, in Dike, the son of Chas. and Emma Damm Posekany. He was married to Jane Syers in Waterloo, June 22, 1950.

He served 6 years in the U.S. Navy and 2 or 3 years in the Korean Conflict. At the time of his death he was a salesman for A. Y. McDonald Mfg. Co., Waterloo, a position he had maintained for many years.

He is survived by his father, Charles Posekany of Dike; his widow, Jane; two sons Marty and Darby, both at home; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Rae) Stevens of Des Moines; one brother, Robert of Weldon, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. James (Virginia) McNeil of Concord, Calif.; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister.

The family have suggested that memorials may be given to the Sartori Memorial Hospital coronary care unit.
