Dike--William E. McBride, Jr., 73, of Chicago, formerly of Dike, died Sunday, Dec. 5, at Cebrini Hospital, Chicago, of heart failure; survivors include three daughters, Leslie Wile of Oxford, Ohio, Julie McBride of Olympia, Wash., and Sarah McBride of Norfolk, Va.; a son, Dr. William S. McBride of Omaha; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two brothers, Ivan of Chatham, Ill., and Gene of Independence; and three sisters, Juanita Jans of Harlan, Geneva McCallum of Cedar Falls and Beth Hall of Washington state; private family services will be conducted later; Alternative Funeral Services, Chicago, is in charge of arrangements; Mr. McBride was a professional engineer.
