John Timmer Services Held

John Timmer, of Dike, passed away Monday, September 20, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown of natural causes, having attained the age of 76 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, September 22, at Elmwood Cemetery, Dike, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Paul C. Nielsen officiating.

John was born October 26, 1916, in Butler County the son of Fred and Pauline (Tobin) Timmer Sr. He received his education in Butler County schools. He served his country during World War II.

John was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include two sisters, Bertha Aswegan of Parkersburg, and Fannie Johnson of Stanhope; and several nieces and nephews.

The Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
