Services Held June 2nd For Miss Carol Rindels

Funeral services for Miss Carol Jean Rindels, 42, of Dike were held at the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church, rural Grundy Center last Friday, June 2, 1978. Miss Rindels passed away early Wednesday, May 31st at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center of an apparent heart attack.

The Rev. Karl Wiersum, Holland Christian Reformed Church, officiated at the 1:30 p.m. services. Mrs. Harlan Beninga played selected numbers on the organ for the prelude and postlude and accompanied vocalists, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Graves. Mr. and Mrs. Graves sang three hymns, "How Great Thou Art", "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden".

Ushers were Bert Pruin and Herman Bakker. The flower attendants were Mrs. Marvin Meester and Mrs. Alvin Meester. Casketbearers were Marvin Meester, Roy Groote, Marlyn Hulseman, Paul Reinicke and Richard Freese. Joe Graves provided a car for the family.

Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery at Dike.

Carol Jean Rindels was born near Buck Grove, Grundy County on June 2, 1935, the daughter of Herman J. and Laura E. Doescher Rindels. Miss Rindels lived her entire life at home.

Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rindels, 145 First Street, Dike; a brother, Eldon, of rural Dike; a nephew, Dennis Rindels of Cedar Falls and a niece, Mrs. Barry (Diane) Block of Gladbrook and two great nephews.

A memorial fund has been established. The Dike Funeral Chapel who were in charge of the arrangements held viewing at the Dike Chapel on Thursday evening and Friday morning when the body was taken to the church for viewing prior to the services.
