Kent VanSchoyck Service Tuesday

Memorial services for Kent L. VanSchoyck, 34, of 2016 Rainbow Drive, Cedar Falls, were held last Tuesday afternoon at the Kimball Ave. United Methodist church in Waterloo. The pastor, Rev. LeRoy E. Baumann, officiated. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery, Dike.

Mr. VanSchoyck passed away of acute leukemia early Sunday morning at University hospital in Iowa City.

He had been a parts inspector at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works until illness forced his retirement last February.

He was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Waterloo to Harvey and Mildred Bowen VanSchoyck. He had served with the Navy on Guam. He was a member of the Kimball Ave. church and of Local 838, UAW. On Sept. 4, 1959, he was married at Dike to Judith Anne Boike, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Boike.

Survivors include his widow, Judith; three children, Tracy, Randy and Scott, all at home; his parents, Harvey VanSchoyck of Second St., Waterloo, and Mrs. Mildred VanSchoyck of Sycamore St., Waterloo; two half-brothers, Werner VanSchoyck of Lakeside, Ore., and Ronald Milne of Orchard St., Waterloo.
