Arlo Moore Services Held

Arlo Neal Moore, 94, of the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, and formerly of Dike, died early Tuesday morning, August 16 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

Funeral services were held at the Dike United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 18 with Rev. James Hanke officiating. Organist was Marlys Paige and Mrs. Lavonne Johnson sang "The Lord's Prayer." David Plaehn sang "Just A Closer Walk With Thee." Casket bearers were Carson Plaehn, David Plaehn, Robert Moore and Kevin Kolbet. Interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

Mr. Moore was born July 26, 1889 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Lincoln and Adeline Ewing Moore. He married Gladys Barlow in 1917. She preceded him in death in 1950. He married Florence Rice in 1963.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; one son, Philip, Hudson; four daughters, Marilyn Plaehn, Cedar Falls, Jane Mochael, Crystal Lake, IL, Joane Plaehn, Charleston, SC, and Sue Hogshead of Pasadena, CA; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Moore, Helen Moore and Mae Ingram, all of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, one grandson, two brothers and one sister.

The Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home of Cedar Falls was in charge of funeral arrangements.
