Services Tuesday For Alvin V. Fisher

Memorial services were held Tuesday afternoon, September 28, 1971 for Alvin V. Fisher, 55, of R.R. 4, Cedar Falls. Mr. Fisher passed away early last Saturday morning at the Schoitz Memorial Hospital, Waterloo. He had been a patient there for four days.

The funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Church in Hudson with the Rev. Gerald A. Stevens officiating.

Mrs. Bob Johnson of Hudson sang "In the Garden." She was accompanied by Mrs. Kent Pellett, also of Hudson, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

Casket bearers were Richard Fisher, Terry Fisher, Robert Christensen, Charles Christensen, Gunther Moser and Larry Woodbury.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. John Craig and Mrs. Helga Mikkelsen were in charge of the floral arrangements. Marvin Multhauf and Lloyd Loonan served as ushers.

Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

Alvin V. Fisher was born Oct. 18, 1915, the son of George and Anna Rasmussen Fisher in Blackhawk County. On Jan. 18, 1939 he married Elsie Christensen at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. They farmed near Hudson till 1956 when they moved to a farm northeast of Dike.

Survivors include his widow, Elsie; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Barbara) Lovell of Dike, Mrs. Herman (Dixie) Maas of Winthrop, and Mrs. Craig (Patricia) Lovell of Ankeny; one son, Jerry, at home; one brother George Joe Fisher of Waterloo; three sisters, Miss Esther Fisher of Waterloo, Mrs. Wm. (Lena) Marshall of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. John W. (Lillian) O'Connell of Yuma, Arizona and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

He was a member of the Community Church at Hudson and of the Cedar Valley Sportsman's Club of Janesville.
