Services Feb. 18 For Henry Kellum

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon, Wednesday Feb. 18, 1976 at the United Methodist Church, Dike, for Henry R. Kellum, 62. Mr. Kellum passed away at 11:59 p.m. last Sunday evening, after having been a patient in the intensive care unit at Schoitz Memorial Hospital since the previous Thursday evening.

The Reverends Donald B. Manworren of Waterloo and James F. Hanke, Jr., Dike officiated at the 2 p.m. services. Selected numbers were played on the organ by Mrs. Alice Mayer for the prelude and postlude. She also accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Graves as they sang "Ivory Palaces" and "How Great Thou Art."

Pallbearers were Byron Johnson, Neal Thuesen, Tom Dietrick, Russell Mommer, Ernest Brandhorst and Jack Mommer. Ushers were Jack Heritage and John Mulder. The attendants of the flowers were Mrs. Russell Mommer and Mrs. Lilas Schmidt.

Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

The Dike Funeral Chapel who were in charge of the arrangements held public viewing at the Chapel on Tuesday and until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning when the body was taken to the church for viewing prior to the services.

A memorial fund has been established.

Henry R. Kellum was born May 14, 1913 in Butler County near Parkersburg, the son of William and Cena Ennenga Kellum. He was married to Averil E. Whitney on May 29, 1933 at Waverly, Iowa. He lived in Butler, Bremer, Chickasaw and Grundy County. They moved to Dike in 1966.

Survivors include his wife, Averil; four sons, Dale of San Jose, California, Roger, Bruce and Michael, all of New Hartford; three daughters, Mrs. Clinton (Illene) Wolf of Des Moines, Mrs. Jim (Cherlyn) Brooke of Moberly, Missouri and Zatha of Cedar Falls; one sister, Mrs. Richard (Susie) Scoles of Tripoli; one brother, Andrew Kellum of New Hartford; and 12 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Sam Kellum.
