Mrs. Fred Greenfield Dies; Funeral At Dike

Cedar Falls--Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Greenfield, 61, who died Friday at 8 p.m. at Allen Memorial hospital after an illness of five weeks, will be at the Methodist church at Dike, Monday at 2 p.m. The body is at the Dahl funeral home.

Born Lucy Marks, June 20, 1885, in Grundy county, daughter of Henry and Dena Marks, she was married to Fred Greenfield Dec. 19, 1906, in Grundy county.

She was a member of the Methodist church at Dike.

Survivors include her husband; three brothers, Dave and Luke, both of Dike, John, New Hartford; also three sisters, Mrs. Victor Bulthuis, Dike, Mrs. John Aswegan, Bristow, and Mrs. Jurgen Bruns, Stout

Mrs. Greenfield Dies Friday In W'loo Hospital

Mrs. Fred Greenfield died Friday evening at eight o'clock at the Allen Memorial hospital at Waterloo. She had been sick for six weeks. Death came quite suddenly from a heart attack. She was 61 years old.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Dike Methodist church. The services were conducted by Rev. Bird, local pastor. Burial was in the Dike cemetery.

Mrs. Greenfield's maiden name was Lucy Marks. She was born on a farm in Lincoln township, Grundy county, June 20, 1885. She grew up on the farm where she was born and on December 19, 1906, she and Fred Greenfield were married. They moved to Hancock county where they resided on a farm for five or six years after which they returned to Grundy county. They moved on a Lincoln township farm and remained there ten years when they moved to Grundy Center. Five years ago they left Grundy Center to make their home in Dike. Mrs. Greenfield was a member of the Dike Methodist church.

Surviving are the husband, four brothers and three sisters. The brothers are Dave and Luke Marks from New Hartford. The sisters are Mrs. Victor Bultuis, Dike, Mrs. Jurgen Bruns, Stout, Frank Eiklenborg, and Miss Ha, Bristow.
