Services Friday For H. C. Aswegan

Henry C. Aswegan, age 78, died Tuesday at 7 a.m. at the Schoitz Memorial hospital in Waterloo.

Services will be Friday, June 16 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Reinbeck. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Dike, with the Rev. C. G. Meyer officiating.

Henry Aswegan was born June 5, 1889, in Beaver township, Grundy county, the son of Harm J. and Bertha (Marks) Aswegan. He married Mamie Renken December 16, 1914. The couple farmed in Butler, Tama and Grundy Counties. His wife preceded him in death May 8, 1950. He resided with a daughter in Reinbeck for about eight years, and also 1 1/2 years in Dike, and for the past year in Reinbeck. He entered the hospital Monday evening at about 7 p.m.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter, Edward of Grundy Center, Elmer of Waterloo, and Edna, Mrs. Edwin Sebekow, of Reinbeck; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; 6 brothers and three sisters, Harm, Mexico, Missouri, George, Parkersburg, Joe, Waterloo, Fred, Luke, William of Grundy Center, Dena, Grundy Center, Mrs. Lucy Mudderman, Grundy Center, Mrs. Ernest Kuehl, Gladbrook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, wife, and one daughter.

The casket will be moved to the church at 11 a.m. Friday from the Engelkes Funeral Home.
