Services Saturday for Vernie Cox, 62

Funeral services were held last Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. for Vernie J. Cox, 62. The services were at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with the Rev. Harlan Nyhoff, pastor of Grace Reformed Church in Waterloo, officiating. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery at Dike.

Mr. Cox died of cancer enroute to a Waverly hospital on Wednesday morning, April 24, 1974.

He was born Feb. 2, 1912 in Black Hawk County, the son of J. P. and Pauline Runge Cox. He married Lillie M. Baker on June 10, 1969. He was a truck driver for Larry Lehman Trucking Co. for many years.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Donald, Parkersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Albert Lotts of Hudson; three step-daughters, Mrs. Herbert Lehman of Waterloo and Mrs. Albert Jungling and Mrs. Albert Tjepkes both of Cedar Falls; three brothers, Raymond of Readlyn, John and Art of Waterloo; a sister, Mrs. LeRoy Burk of Waterloo; six grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
