Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the First Evangelical United Brethren Church for Edward E. Vogel, 79, 522 Franklin St. Mr. Vogel died of carcinoma about 9 p.m. Wednesday in Sartori Memorial hospital.

The Rev. D. H. Iles, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery at Dike.

Mr. Vogel was born Jan. 28, 1884, in Buchanan county, Mo., the son of Frederick and Rosetta Vogel. He married Clare E. Yoesel on Dec. 28, 1911, in Falls City, Neb.

The couple came here eight years ago after living in Grundy Center for several years. He had been a salesman.

Mr. Vogel was a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. John Volberding, Dike; two sisters, Mrs. Adolph Keller, St. Joseph, Mo., and Mrs. Will Garbe, Valley Falls, Kan.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, a sister, two brothers and one son.

The Dahl funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
