John Patterson Buried at Dike

John Patterson, 72, of Joliet, Ill. passed away at a Joliet hospital on Wednesday evening, May 7th. Services for the husband of former Dike resident, Leona Lovell, were held at the Carlson Funeral Home at 12 o'clock noon on Saturday.

Area relatives attending the services included Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Muller, Mrs. Dale Christiansen, Lynn Lovell, Mrs. Wayne Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bennett of Tripoli and Mrs. Alice Lovell of the Reinbeck area.

Graveside services for Mr. Patterson were held at the Elmwood Cemetery at Dike on Monday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Mr. Patterson was born on Oct. 28, 1902 in Texarkana, Texas. He was married to Leona Lovell, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. I. F. Lovell on Dec. 25, 1943 in Kenosha, Wis. He was employed at Marshall Field & Co. in Chicago for 20 years, retiring five years ago as a supervisor for the company.

Survivors include his wife, Leona; one son, Peter, daughter-in-law, Kathy and one granddaughter, Betty Marie, all of Joliet.

Mrs. Patterson accompanied the relatives to Dike for the graveside services and with others were guests at the Ralph Lovell home during the afternoon last Monday.
