Harrenstein Died Tuesday

Klaas "Casey" Harrenstein, 67, died at his home at 1406 6th Street, Grundy Center, Tuesday morning, October 22. Committal services will be held Thursday at Elmwood cemetery in Dike at 2 p.m. Rev. Jerry VanCurler, pastor of the Colfax Presbyterian church, will preside.

He was born November 20, 1906, in Colfax township, Grundy county, Iowa, the son of Ben and Alice Oswald Harrenstein. He had been a resident of Washington State for 20 years where he worked for Boeing Aircraft corporation. He returned to Grundy county in November 1967, living in the Holland area until a year ago when he moved to Grundy Center.

He is survived by three sons, Dennis of Washington State, Donald of Virginia City, Minn., and Kenneth, address unknown; 7 grandchildren; three brothers, Jake Harrenstein of Smith Center, Kans., Alvin of Grundy Center and Edwin of Dike; three sisters, Mrs. Oscar Meyer of Stout, Mrs. Herman Boike of Waterloo and Mrs. K. C. Kruger of Holland. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
