Retired Farmer, Tony Billman, 85, Passed Away July 10

Tony Billman, 85, retired Dike farmer, passed away at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo last Sunday, July 10, 1977 at 10:40 a.m.

Funeral services were held at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls with burial in the Elmwood Cemetery at Dike.

Tony Billman was born Dec. 18, 1891, in Grundy county, the son of Fred and Marion Hall Billman. He married Ethel M. Klontz on August 27, 1914 in Grundy Center.

They farmed south of Dike for 32 years, moving to a farm north of Cedar Falls in 1950. After being there for two years they moved to Cedar Falls making their home at 1404 Washington Street. In 1975 Mr. and Mrs. Billman assumed residency at the Park View Garden Care Center, Waterloo.

Survivors include his wife of Park View Garden Care Center, Waterloo; four sons, Harlan of 1723 Maplewood Dr., Cedar Falls, Herbert of Clarion, Iowa, Charles of 1406 Orchard Dr., Cedar Falls, and Wayne of 1420 Franklin St., Waterloo; and one daughter, Mrs. Carl (Arlene) Jones of Watson, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. Leota Hurlbut of R5, Cedar Falls, Mrs. Marian Graham of Parkersburg and Mrs. Marlys Elftman of Fort Meyer, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Leo.
