Cedar Falls--Jessie Vae Deadrick, 85, of the Cedar Falls Western Home, died Saturday, Nov. 14, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

She was born May 10, 1907, in New Hartford, daughter of George and Jennie Holbrook Jones. She married John W. Deadrick on July 11, 1925, in New Hartford. He died Dec. 28, 1963.

Mrs. Deadrick attended Iowa State Teachers College and taught for several years in country schools. In the middle 1960s, she was employed in the office of the Cedar Falls Western Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Vae Kaiser of Backus, Minn.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by a son, John George in 1968; a grandson; three brothers and four sisters.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Visitation also will be an hour before services at the church.

A memorial fund will be established.
