Funeral Services July 31 For Roger Lupardus

Funeral services were held last Thursday, July 31 for Roger Dale Lupardus, 17. R. Lupardus was dead on arrival at the Sartori Hospital, Cedar Falls of injuries received in a one-car accident southeast of Dike on Monday night, July 28, 1975.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church, Dike at 10:30 a.m. Pastor James F. Hanke, Jr. officiated. Mrs. John Paige, organist, played selected prelude and postlude selections and played "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer My God To Thee" as musical interludes during the services.

Pall bearers were Mathew Murphy, Scott Freese, Paul Beninga, Scott Stoffregen, Rick Hummel and Todd Lynch. Church personnel who were in charge of the flowers were Mrs. John Volberding and Mrs. Roger Davis and John Mulder and Russell Hohenberger were ushers.

Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery. The Dike Funeral Chapel were in charge of the arrangements.

Roger Dale Lupardus was born August 6, 1975[sic] in Waterloo the son of Don and Ruth Rubenbauer Lupardus. He reached the age of 17 years, 11 months and 22 days. When the family lived in Cedar Falls Roger attended the Price Laboratory School. In February of 1971 the family moved to a farm 2 miles east and 3/4 miles north of Dike and Roger began attending the Dike Community School. He would have been a junior student this fall. While at the Dike School he was a participant in sports, namely track and football.

He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Ms. Jeanne Kleinhans of Cedar Falls and Ms. Janet Lupardus of Rt 2 Tama and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Edith Rubenbauer of Rt. 2, Marshalltown.

A memorial fund has been established.
