Donald was born January 6, 1930, in rural Dike, Iowa, the son of Elmer L. and Lucille L. (Conradi) DeBower.

He graduated from Dike High School in 1948 and went on to serve his Country in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict, where he completed Carpenters School in 1952.

On September 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Sue A. Weatherly in Dike. He was employed at Clay Equipment for 33 years in the Experimental Department, retiring in 1987.

He played for the Baltimore Orioles farm team but was unable to complete his contract due to his father's death. He was a member of the Northeast Iowa Woodcarvers.

Donald is survived by his wife, Sue of Cedar Falls; son, Jeffrey DeBower (Patti Payne) and daughter, Jean E. (Daniel) Kloster of Cedar Falls.

Donald died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at his home in Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Glenn E. DeBower.
