Services Held For Alice Heid

Alice L. Heid of Reinbeck, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 1996, of natural causes at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, having attained the age of 90 years and 17 days.

Born March 24, 1906, in Grundy County, Iowa, Alice was the daughter of Deddo and Ella (Franken) Meyer. She received her education in Holland. On March 21, 1941, Alice was united in marriage to Leo Heid. Alice and Leo settled in Dike, Iowa in 1946 and lived there until the 1970's when they moved to Reinbeck, where Alice continued to live until her death.

Alice attended Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church in rural Grundy Center. She will be remembered as a loving mother who provided a good home for her children and husband as well as for her compassionate and giving nature.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include four sons, Robert Lynch of Payson, Arizona, Roger Lynch of Cedar Falls, Larry Heid of Iowa City, and James Heid of Laramie, Wyoming; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Meyer and Alvin Meyer, both of Holland; and five sisters, Elizabeth Murphy of Holland, Tina Mohlis of Idaho, and Marian Dieken, Lorraine Heronimus, and Lavine Weichers, all of Colorado.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 13, 1996, at the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church in rural Grundy Center, Iowa, with the Reverend David Dykstra officiating. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery in Dike, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Grundy County Hospice.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
