Services for Mrs. Ruth I. Cook, 81, of 118 Edgemont Circle, Waterloo, were at 1:00 p.m. August 1 at the Chapel of Memories West in Waterloo with burial in Elmwood Cemetery at Dike.

She was born March 12, 1900 at Reinbeck, the daughter of John and Minnie Bick Gunnarson. She married John R. Cook in 1919 in Waterloo. He died in 1966.

Mr. and Mrs. Cook were long time residents of Dike. While in Dike they operated a cafe.

Survivors include two sons: Robert J. of 2607 West Ninth, Waterloo, and John H. of Anamosa; a sister, Mrs. Helen Jumper of 920 Hawthorne; a brother, Lee Gienger of 912 Berch, Waterloo; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
