Mrs. Mary L. King Died Monday

Mrs. Mary Louisa King, one of the oldest residents of Dike, died Monday evening at 7:15 of complications due to old age, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Davids, where she had been cared for, for over seven years. Mrs. King celebrated her 91st birthday anniversary Feb. 28.

Mary Louisa Buol was born Feb. 28, 1861, near Sac City, Wis., daughter of John and Augusta Buol. She was married at the age of 18 to A. J. King at Lone Rock, Wis. They were the parents of two daughters. They farmed near Springfield, Ohio, until the death of Mr. King in 1898.

Mrs. King with her daughters, spent a few years in Wisconsin, then moved to Dike in 1901, spending the rest of her life here. She was preceded in death besides her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Dan Harrington of Dike in 1937. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Wm. H. Davids of Dike, two grandchildren, Lloyd Davids of Dike, Mrs. Merl McInroy of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Kent, Gary and Kay McInroy of Cedar Falls.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the Dike Methodist church. Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery in Dike. The body is at the Dahl Funeral Home in Cedar Falls.
