Charles Knudsen Dies In Michigan Sanitarium
Hans Knudsen received a telegram Monday of the death early Monday of his son, Charles, who had been a patient at East Lawn Sanitarium at Northville, Mich., for about two years suffering with tuberculosis of the lungs. He came to Dike early this spring, but returned to the sanitarium in a few months.
Charles Knudsen was born in Hudson, June 27, 1898. He was graduated from the Dike high school in 1914. About twelve years ago he went to Detroit, Mich., where he engaged in the trucking business.
He is survived by his father in Dike, and three brothers, Leo of Cedar Falls, Bernie at Clear Lake and Lyman at Dike. His mother died in May, 1928.
The body arrived in Dike Wednesday. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Dike Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and burial was in Dike cemetery. Rev. Hoffmann had charge of the funeral service. Casket bearers were Chas. Reid, Bert Murphy, Fred Roberts, Frank Roberts, Ralph McKinder and Leslie McKinder.
