Funeral Services Saturday For Hans J. Knudsen

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. in the Dike Methodist Church for Hans Jens Knudsen, pioneer Dike resident who died Tuesday at the St. Francis hospital in Waterloo.

Services will be conducted by Reverend H. Myron Braun of Dike and the Rev. Charles Luce of Waterloo. Burial will be in the Dike cemetery.

Dike--Hans Jens Knudson, in St. Francis hospital, Waterloo, Tuesday of cancer, following an illness of a year; born Oct. 1, 1875, at Odense, Denmark; came to United States in 1887; lived in Hudson and established harness shop in Dike in 1906; operated business until became ill; married Maggie Walters at Hudson; member of Dike Methodist church and Odd Fellows lodge; also mayor Dike for 28 years and member of Dike school board for many years; leaves three sons, Bernie, Seattle, Wash.; Leo and Lyman, Dike; a brother in Omaha and one in Denmark; wife, daughter, Hildegarde, and son, Charles, preceded him in death.
