Mrs. D. Webrand Dies Monday

Mrs. Dick Webrand died at 6:30 Monday evening at the Christie Convalescent Home at Cedar Falls. Advanced age and complications were the cause of her death. She was 88 and resided in Grundy county nearly off of her active life.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Christian Reformed church at Grundy Center with Rev. Zwaanstra officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Webrand was born in Ostfriesland, Germany, March 27th, 1864. Her maiden name was Florence Van Osten.

She was educated in Germany, where she grew to womanhood and on Oct. 5, 1889, was married to Dick Webrand. They came to the United States soon afterward and had lived in Grundy county most of their lives in America. Mrs. Webrand was a member of the Lincoln Center Christian Reform church.

Mrs. Webrand was preceded in death by her husband and one son.

She is survived by six sons and two daughters. They include Dick, Cedar Falls; Orlow, Finchford; Melvin, Shell Rock; Verne, Reinbeck; John, Cedar Falls; Henry, New Hartford; Mrs. Mike Meinders and Mrs. John Rand, both of Cedar Falls.

There are 35 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
