Obituary of Mrs. Laurence Koch

June Eloise Eiby was born on June 4, 1914 to Nels and Lillie Eiby at Estherville, Iowa. She came to Cedar Falls with her family in 1919, and was educated in the Cedar Falls schools along with her four sisters who survive her.

On Dec. 3, 1932, she was married to Laurence Koch of Dike. They farmed south of Dike most of their married life, except for a few years which they spent in Waterloo.

June was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church near Hudson.

She first became ill last November and was told she was the victim of cancer. She accepted her cross bravely and through all her suffering she greeted her callers with a smile and was ready to meet her Saviour. Death came Sunday, July 22 at 3 p.m. at the Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls where she had been a patient the past 15 weeks.

Surviving are her husband, four sisters, Mrs. Floyd DeLapp of Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Glenn Moser of Newton, Mrs. Ray Reisinger of Waterloo, Mrs. Clarence Cook of Elk Run Heights and several nieces, nephews and lots of friends.

She was preceded in death by a baby son, Robert Eugene, her parents and two brothers.

Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Hueter of Hudson officiating. Burial was in the Elmwood cemetery at Dike.

Pallbearers were Ray Cirksena, John Bakker, Ned Simcox, John Weber, Howard Bowers and Clarence Clausen. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Graves were vocalists for the services and were accompanied by Mrs. John Paige at the organ. Mrs. Jack Heritage, Mrs. Gene Murphy, Mrs. Dude Syhlman and Gordon Sloth took care of the flowers.
