Mrs. Olive Johnson Dies At Dike

Mrs. Olive Johnson died early Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Johnson, in Dike. Death was the result of a heart affliction. She was 78 years old. The body is at the Dahl Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Services will be at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church in Dike. Burial will be in the Dike cemetery.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Johnson; two brothers, A. H. Treat, Peoria, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. A. P. Waller, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Helen Mullarkey, Madison, Wis.; a grandson and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Johnson, Feb. 15, 1943.

Mrs. Olive Johnson Died January 1st

Olive Johnson was born Sept. 5, 1878 at Charles City and passed away at 5:15 a.m., Jan. 1, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Johnson Jr., of a heart ailment.

Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of Sarah and Amasa Treat. She was married to Peter J. Johnson Nov. 1, 1905. Mr. Johnson passed away Feb. 15, 1945. To this union two children were born, a son, Wendell Harry, born Sept. 5, 1906, and died March 5, 1909, and Thomas Johnson Jr., with whom she made her home.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by 2 brothers, A. H. Treat of Western Springs, Ill., and J. L. Treat of Peoria, Ill., and 2 sisters, Mrs. A. T. Waller of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Helen Mullarkey of Madison, Wis.

She is also survived by a granddaughter, Mrs. Darrell Arends and a great-granddaughter, Debbie Arends.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Dike Methodist church and was a charter member of the Dike Rebekah lodge.

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson were held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the Dike Methodist church and burial was in the Dike cemetery.
