Mrs. Dora A. Cutler
Mrs. Dora A. Cutler, 61, for many years a resident of Cedar Falls and Dike, Ia., died at 2 a.m. Saturday in Mercy hospital, Davenport, Ia. Peritonitis had developed after she became ill of ptomaine poisoning last Monday.
Formerly Mrs. Dora Hoffman of 805 Twenty-fourth street west, Cedar Falls, she was married recently to Fred Cutler, 327 Edwards street, Waterloo.
Born Aug. 5, 1875, at Aplington, Ia., as Dora Anna Anderson, she was married about 40 years ago to John William Hoffman at Fern, Ia. They moved to New Hartford, Ia.; then to Dike, Ia.; and finally, 15 years ago to Cedar Falls, where Mr. Hoffman died three and a half years ago.
Mrs. Cutler was a past worthy matron of the Cedar Falls chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the White Shrine, the Rebekah lodge and First Presbyterian church of Cedar Falls.
Surviving are the husband; two sons, Grant Hoffman, 815 Eighteenth street west, Cedar Falls, and Maynard Hoffman, Watertown, S.D.; a daughter, Mrs. LeRoy Ditzler, Dike; two brothers, John J. Anderson, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Andrew Anderson, Wellsburg, Ia.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, at the Presbyterian church in Cedar Falls with the Rev. Bruce Giffen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Dike, Ia.
The body will remain at Petersen Bros. funeral home, Waterloo, until 1:45 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. John Hoffman, Former Resident of Dike, Is Dead
Mrs. John Hoffman, a former resident of Dike, died in Mercy hospital at Davenport a week ago as a result of a short illness from ptomaine poisoning. Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman operated the hotel at Dike for several years. They moved to Cedar Falls a number of years ago.
Funeral services were at Cedar Falls on May 10th.
Mrs. Hoffman was born August 5, 1875, at Aplington, Iowa, as Dora Anna Anderson. She was married 40 years ago to John William Hoffman at Fern. They moved to New Hartford, then to Dike, and finally to Cedar Falls 15 years ago, where Mr. Hoffman died three and a half years ago. She was married April 30 to Fred Cutler of Waterloo.
She had spent the winter in Florida and was returning to Cedar Falls when she stopped for a visit at Davenport.
Surviving are the husband, two sons, Grant Hoffman of Cedar Falls and Maynard Hoffman of Watertown, S.D., a daughter, Mrs. LeRoy Ditzler of Dike, two brothers, John J. Anderson of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Andrew Anderson of Wellsburg.
