Services Today for Mrs. Tillie Scott, 85

Memorial services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, Feb. 9, 1972, for Mrs. Tillie May Schultz Scott. The 1:30 p.m. services will be at the Dike Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert W. Hoover, Jr., officiating. Public viewing will be held at the Chapel from 9:00 a.m. this morning until service time.

Mrs. Tillie May Schultz Scott was born April 3, 1886, at Gresham, Iowa. She was the daughter of David M. and Barbara Klinger Tobias. She attended school at Klinger, Iowa, and graduated from Hudson, Iowa, High School.

The family moved to Dike, Iowa, in 1903 and she clerked in the family general store. She married Jeppe Schultz, a Dike banker, in 1913. Mr. Schultz died Aug. 12, 1924. A friend, Mrs. Myrtle Larsen Mitchell, and Mrs. Scott went to Longview, Washington, in 1928, and opened a Beauty Shop. She married Ben G. Scott in June, 1932, and lived in Kelso, Washington, until her death. Mr. Scott died Jan. 1959. She is a charter and 50-year member of the Dike American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Scott passed away at the Longview Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 5, 1972, of an undetermined cause.

Funeral services were held at Kelso, Washington on Tuesday, Feb. 8 and the body was flown to Dike on Wednesday. Services at the Dike Funeral Chapel will be this afternoon, Thursday, Feb. 10, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Robert Hoover, Jr., United Methodist pastor officiating. Burial at the Elmwood Cemetery at Dike.

Pall bearers were to be Jake Alberts, Herbert Hoffmeister, Wayne Johnson and Ralph Immings of the Dike area and Dudley Bramblette of Jesup and Harley Kaiser of Cedar Falls.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Hans (Emma) Kelsen of Dike and Mrs. Minnie Schultz of Standard, Alberta, Canada; one step-son, Lynn Scott of Prosser, Washington; four step-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Maud Tobias and Mrs. Mary Petersen, both of Dike and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands, sister and two brothers.
