Barbara Andersen

Barbara Andersen, nee Leah, formerly of Dike, was born in Central Falls, R.I., on Sept. 7. 1930. She passed away on Nov. 22, 2014, in Green Valley, Ariz. The youngest of five children, she was the daughter of Fred Leah Jr. and Lillian Barbara Danz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

She is survived by her husband, Mervin; one sister, Mary; four children, Leah Hansen, Clinton Andersen, Angie Russell and Kirsten Ward; and two grandchildren, Karina and Kyle Hansen.

She and Mervin were married on July 24, 1954, in Pawtucket, R.I. After marriage they moved to Dike, where they farmed for 36 years, moving to Green Valley in 2000.

She was a member of the Green Valley Community Church and the United Methodist Church in Dike.

A memorial service will be held at the Green Valley Community Church at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28. In lieu of flowers memorials should be sent to the local Food Bank.
