Mrs. Nick Freese Dies Suddenly Of Heart Attack

Mrs. Nick Freese of Dike died at her home in Dike Monday morning at 2:45 from a heart attack, following an operation. About eight weeks ago, she was taken to the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo. She has been at home three weeks and was thought to be showing much improvement.

Mrs. Freese (Miss Dena Boike) was born in Grundy county Jan. 1, 1885, and was 55 years old the day she died. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harm Boike. On December 2, 1902, she was married to Nick Freese at the Lincoln Center parsonage. They have lived in Grundy county all their married life. In 1928, they moved from their farm three miles north west of Dike, to their present home in Dike.

She was the mother of three daughters and two sons, they are: Mrs. Henry Pruisner of Stout, Mrs. Thomas V. Johnson of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Ralph Lovell of Reinbeck, C. E. Freese on the home farm and Vernon at home. There are 12 grandchildren. She also is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Carrie Gruis of Meservey, three brothers, Henry and Harm, living near Dike and Chris Boike near Cedar Falls.

Funeral services will be held at the house Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock and at the Dike Methodist church immediately following with Rev. J. E. Pritchard of the Dike church officiating. Burial will be in the Dike cemetery.
