James Johnson, C.F. Dies, Heart Attack

James R. Johnson, 43, of 3304 Dallas Drive, Cedar Falls, died of an apparent heart attack Saturday afternoon, Feb. 27. Memorial services for James Johnson were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls with the Rev. Ralph Andersen officiating.

Masonic services were held at the Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, on Monday evening. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

James R. Johnson was born April 27, 1927, in Chicago, the son of James H. and Allece Wohlsdorf Johnson. On Sept. 25, 1949, he married Lorraine Johnson, daughter of the late Clarence Johnson and Mrs. Helena Johnson, RR4, Cedar Falls.

He was employed at the John Deere Tractor Works, Waterloo. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Black Hawk Lodge No. 65 of A.F. and A.M. in Cedar Falls, the Royal Arch Mason of Iowa, Baldwin Commandery No. 11, the ElMecca Shrine, Cedar Falls Amvets, and the John Deere Supervisors Club.

He is survived by his widow, Lorraine; three daughters, Ann, Patricia and Janet, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Henry Grosso of Grant Street, Waterloo and one sister, Mrs. Robert Ohrt, Melrose Drive, Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorials will go for the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church organ fund.
