Services Sat. For Chris Anderson

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Methodist Church in Dike for Chris Andersen. The service was conducted by Rev. Robert Crum. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery, Dike. He was 75 years old.

Mr. Andersen died at Sartori hospital in Cedar Falls last Thursday.

Mr. Andersen was born in Inorebinsten, Denmark on Jas. 29, 1886, a son of Otto and Caroline Jacobsen Andersen. He came to the United States in 1903. He has lived his entire life in Dike having been a painter.

In recent years he spent his time gardening and until a year or so ago had raised rabbits. Many young boys and girls in and around Dike enjoyed stopping at Chris's "Plow Garden" home to visit with him and see the rabbits.

Chris grew a large variety of plants, trees and flowers, which he enjoyed showing to his visitors. His close friends could depend on him for bringing them a bouquet of the spring's first pussy willows as well as bouquets of flowers throughout the summer.

The sound of his lawn-mower riding cart which he used in good weather for transportation around Dike as well as his friendly visits will be missed by his friends.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. James Mikkelsen, Rockwell, and Mrs. George Eddings, Geneva, N.Y.; three brothers, Axel Andersen, Fort Dodge, and James and Harold Andersen, Denmark; and a niece, Mrs. Hilda Christensen, 1321 West 7th, Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
