Services Held Monday For Lyle Silverthorne

Funeral services were held this past Monday afternoon for Lyle Kenneth Silverthorne, 56, of Dike. Mr. Silverthorne passed away early last Friday morning, Jan. 24, at the Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls. His death was caused by an apparent heart attack.

The services were held at the Dike United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Robert Hoover, Jr. officiated. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. The Dike Funeral Chapel were in charge of the arrangements.

Lyle Silverthorne was born Nov. 13, 1912 at Fox Lake township, Martin County, Minnesota, the son of Peter Eugene and Katherine Eiden Silverthorne.

He was married to Gail Huntbatch in Dike on March 2, 1963. He had worked as a bookkeeper timekeeper for a Minnesota Construction firm.

Survivors include his widow, Gail, of Dike; two step-children, Donald Cox of Dike and Mrs. Albert (Joan) Lotts of Rockford, ILL.; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Nita Kappleman of Dike; one brother, Earl Silverthorne of Fairmont, Minn.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Patterson of Trimont, Minn.; Mrs. Gladys Jarchow of Austin, Minn.; Mrs. John (Mildred) Caruso of St. Paul, Minn.; and Mrs. Grace Hodgman of Fairmont, Minn.; and five step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
