Services Held For Faye L. Johnson
Faye L. Johnson, of Dike, passed away at her home in Dike of natural causes on Wednesday, January 24, 1996, having attained the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 14 days.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 27, 1996, at the United Methodist Church in Dike, Iowa, with Pastor Rick Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike, Iowa.
Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Dike.
Born September 10, 1906, in Lincoln Township, Grundy County, Iowa, Faye was the daughter of Arthur G. and Minnie (Elliott) Reisinger. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Dike High School in 1924. She lived in Waterloo for ten years, and on June 28, 1934, Faye was united in marriage to Ross D. Johnson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Faye and Ross made their home in Dike where they owned and operated the Westside Tavern. Faye retired in September of 1974.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dike, where she had the distinction of being the longest living member.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ross, in 1950; one brother, Glenn Reisinger; one sister, Gleeo Holzschuh, and a long-time friend and companion, Clark "Pete" Fairbanks.
Survivors include a brother-in-law, Herman Holzschuh of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and a sister-in-law, Marie Reisinger and her family of Des Moines.
Dike Funeral Chapel, Dike, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
