Services Held For Sylvia Knudsen

Sylvia T. Knudsen passed away Tuesday, June 25, 1996, at the Waunakee Manor, Waunakee, Wisconsin, of natural causes at the age of 76 years.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 28, 1996, at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball Avenue, Waterloo, Iowa, with burial at the Elmwood Cemetery in Dike, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Waterloo or the American Cancer Society.

Born January 20, 1920, in rural Dike, Sylvia was the daughter of Albert and Mary (Posekany) Frenzen. On September 17, 1943, she was united in marriage to Lyman Knudsen in Dike, Iowa.

Sylvia had been Clerk, Assistant Postmaster, and then Postmaster of Dike for many years. She was a member of the Dike American Legion Auxiliary for 55 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lilas Schmidt; and an infant brother.

Survivors include her husband, Lyman; one son, Charles Knudsen of Madison, Wisconsin; one sister, Evelyn Cannegieter of Dike; and one granddaughter, Kaylynn of Madison, Wisconsin.

The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo, Iowa, was in charge of the professional arrangements.
