Thresher Victim Of Heart Attack On Farm At Dike

Adam Engel, 50, Resident of Community All His Life; Funeral Sunday

Dike, Ia.--Victim of a sudden heart attack which seized him as he was engaged in threshing operations at the Wilbur Petersen farm near here, Adam Engel, 50, long a resident of this community, died late Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Engel, who had lived near Dike since a boy, was shoveling oats when stricken. He died before medical aid could be administered.

Born in Illinois
Born near Ashton, Ill., July 4, 1887, Mr. Engel had come to Dike community when seven years old, had married Miss Jennie Lynn of this community as a young man and had reared his family here.

Surviving, in addition to the widow are: two sons, Lynn and Ross; a daughter, Melva; his elderly mother, Mrs. Mary Engel, Reinbeck, Ia.; two brothers, William and Charles, Reinbeck; and two sisters, Mrs. James Lovall, Reinbeck, and Mrs. Minnie Habben, Independence.

Rites at Church
Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and a 2 p.m. in the Methodist church, Dike.
