Jens Peter Eliasen
Graveside services will be conducted at the Dike cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday for Jens Peter Eliasen, who died on April 27 at Phoenix, Ariz., of a cerebral vascular illness following an attack of influenza.
The body has arrived from Arizona at the Nelson funeral home, Cedar Falls, and may be viewed by friends Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
The Rev. Kenneth Metcalf of First Methodist Church will officiate.
He was born on May 15, 1886, in Copenhagen, Denmark, the son of Christian and Mary Eliasen. He married Bessie Belt in Waterloo on June 12, 1911. He farmed for 14 years and moved to Cedar Falls in 1927. He became a contractor and resided in Reinbeck until 1946. He moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1948 for his health. For many years he had suffered from asthma.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Gerald of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Mrs. L. Vern Notestien, Keokuk; two sisters, Mrs. N. P. Johnson and Mrs. Perry Wagner, Waverly; two brothers, Will Eliasen and Hans Eliasen, both of Greene.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Seven grandchildren also survive.
