Mrs. Bessie Eliason

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Nelson funeral home here for Mrs. Bessie Irene Eliason, 72, who died in a Keokuk hospital Thursday night.

The Rev. Robert Swanson, associated pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Dike cemetery.

Mrs. Eliason was born Jan. 15, 1890, in New Hartford, the daughter of Rufus and Lettie Belt. She was married to Jens Peter Eliason in New Hartford in 1911.

She had lived in the Cedar Falls area most of her life until moving to Keokuk two years ago to make her home with a daughter. She attended First Methodist Church in Cedar Falls.

Survivors include one son, Gerald, Rt. 2; one daughter, Mrs. Vern Notestien, Keokuk; two brothers, Harley, Alberta, Canada, and Vern, British Columbia, Canada; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Johnston, Longview, Wash., and Mrs. Myrtle Mitchell, British Columbia, and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, husband and one brother.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday. Memorials to the cancer fund may be given.
