Allen Johns Dies Suddenly Thursday Morning at Home

Funeral services for Allen Johns, who passed away early Thursday morning at his home, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ. Prayer service will be held at 1:15 p.m. at the family home. The Rev. John Heinbuch, Jr. will conduct the service. Fritz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Services For Allen Johns Held Saturday p.m.

Services were held Saturday afternoon, May 27, at St. John's United Church of Christ, for Allen H. Johns, with the Rev. John Heinbuch, Jr. conducting. Mr. Johns died suddenly at his home in Ackley early Thursday morning. Burial was in Hazel Green cemetery.

Allen Henry Johns, son of Edward and Emma Long Johns, was born at Abbott May 8, 1891, and spent his entire life in the Ackley community.

He served in the armed forces in World War I, and after his return home, married Anna Steenblock, July 22, 1920. They lived south of Ackley until 1951, when they moved into town.

Surviving Mr. Johns are his wife; two children, Mrs. John Jaspers and Vern Johns, and five grandchildren, all of Ackley. He is also survived by a brother, Merle of Steamboat Rock; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Oelmann and Mrs. Otto Oelmann of Ackley and a brother-in-law, Dick Riekena of Wellsburg.
