Dale Weichers Services Thurs.

Dale Weichers, 73, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away Monday, January 26, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Mountain View Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert D. Dooling and Rev. Kathleen Halloran Fox officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be directed to Mountain View Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.

Dale was born August 8, 1924, in Grundy County the son of Dick and Malena Molendorp Weichers. He was raised and attended school in Grundy County. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1948. While in the service and stationed at San Antonio, Texas, he was married to Lavine M. Meyer on August 14, 1946.

Following the service he returned to Iowa where Dale was a carpenter and contractor in home building. Dale and Lavine moved to Loveland from Holland in 1983 and he was employed with the City of Loveland Parks and Recreation Dept. for about 10 years.

Dale was a member of Mountain View Presbyterian Church. His hobbies included wood working, hunting, fishing and cross word puzzles.

Survivors include his wife Lavine; 1 son, Lee A. Weichers and friend Sherry Albright of Loveland; 2 grandchildren, Kendra J. Weichers and Dion R. Weichers, both of Loveland; 1 brother, Harold Weichers and wife Lil of Wellsburg; and 4 sisters, Nettie Huisman and husband Dick of Wellsburg, Rena Huisman of Buffalo Center, Edna Krebs and husband Paul of Dunkerton and Mildred Weichers of Wellsburg.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Conrad, John and Lester Weichers; and 3 sisters, Grace Freese, Leona Hopkins and Anna Rindels.
