Earl Stupp
Earl William George Stupp, 74, of Steamboat Rock died Friday, December 29, 1995 at his home of cancer.
He was born July 7, 1921, the son of Clayton and Matilda Harder Stupp in Independence, Iowa.
Stupp entered military service in 1942 serving in the Army Air Force during World War II.
On April 7, 1946 he was wed to Betty Grace Brown in Independence. He owned and operated Stupp's DX Service in Steamboat Rock from 1955 until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora.
He was preceded in death by: his wife in 1985; his parents; two grandchildren; and one sister in infancy.
Survivors include: four sons, Sam and wife Adell of Sabula, Iowa, Clayton of Las Vegas, E. J. and his wife Joyce of Marshalltown, and John and wife Cheryl of Steamboat Rock; two daughters, Vicki Miller and Sue Stupp of Ames; two brothers, Corlus Stupp of Titusville, Florida, and Dale Stupp of Independence: two sisters, Marvell Millard of Edina, Minnesota and Marge Uthe of Phoenix, Arizona; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora Tuesday, January 2. Interment was in the Steamboat Rock Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established.
Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora was in charge of the arrangements.
