Services Held Tues. For John C. Primus
Word was received here Saturday, May 4, of the sudden death of John C. Primus of 1387 South Pearl Street, Denver, Colorado, 80210. He was a former resident of Wellsburg and Grundy Center.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, May 7 at Central Presbyterian Church in Denver.
The son of Ben and Helen Siemens Primus, he was born at the Primus family farm in Shiloh township, southwest of Wellsburg, on August 9, 1901.
He was united in marriage to Esther Drake at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church at Holland on June 24, 1930.
His widow survives as does one son, Robert, of Lakewood, Colo., one daughter, Barbara, of Colorado Springs, Colo, three grandsons and one granddaughter. Other survivors are four brothers: Will of Steamboat Rock, George and Marion of Wellsburg, Lee of Minneapolis; one sister, Mrs. Lillie Mae Minium of Grand Junction, Iowa, and one half sister, Miss Anna Primus of Dumont.
His parents and two brothers preceded him in death, Henry B. Primus and Claus B. Primus, both of Steamboat Rock.
Most of his life was spent in teaching in colleges and universities. He retired from his teaching duties at Penn College at Oskaloosa in 1972.
