Clarence Cartwright Died at Age 57

Clarence C. Cartwright, a former Wellsburg resident, died at the age of 57 years in Hastings, Minnesota on July 2, 1977. His death was attributed to natural causes. Services were held at the Caturia Funeral Chapel in Hastings, Minn. on Tuesday, July 5, at 1:00 p.m. Interment was made at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at St. Paul, Minnesota.

Clarence Cartwright was born in Steamboat Rock, Iowa, on February 1, 1920. Preceding him in death were his parents, Grace and David Boyd Cartwright. He attended the Wellsburg Community School but left the area to serve his country by joining the Army at Fort Snelling, St. Paul, Minnesota. He was married in Charles City, Iowa on November 21, 1940. He then resided in Wellsburg until 1966 when he moved to Hastings, Minnesota.

He is survived by three children, William David Cartwright, stationed in Panama, Mrs. Nancy J. Elliott of Parkersburg and Mrs. Betty J. Pruin of Dike. He also left two brothers, Louie Cartwright and Gerald Cartwright and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Olson, all of Red Wing, Minnesota.
