Frank Lamb Dies Wednesday Night At Hospital

Frank Lamb died last Wednesday night at the University hospital at Iowa City from injuries he received when his car got out of control on icy paving and turned over. The accident happened on the evening of January 4th on Primary 14, 2 1/2 miles northwest of Conrad, as he and his wife were on their way to Marshalltown. The injury that proved fatal was a crushed vertebra.

After he was rescued from his turned-over car he was taken to the Deaconess hospital at Marshalltown. The family there were advised by surgeons at the hospital that they could do nothing to save him, after which he was taken to the hospital at Iowa City.

Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Eldora Monday forenoon. The services were conducted by the local pastor, Rev. J. P. Connell. Burial was in the Eldora cemetery. The Wellsburg Post of the American Legion conducted the funeral services at the grave. Members of Legion Posts from Grundy Center and Eldora were present at the funeral service.

Mr. Lamb was one of the charter members of the Legion Post at Wellsburg and was one of its past commanders.

Lived on Same Farm 20 Years
Mr. and Mrs. Lamb lived as tenants for 20 years on the J. F. Strickler farm ten miles west of Grundy Center. He had a wide acquaintance and he was held in high regard by all who knew him. He was 48 years old.

Frank Lamb was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lamb. He was born in Indiana. On February 22, 1920, he was married to Fern Ludwig, who survives her husband. The couple had no children.

Other surviving relatives are four brothers: Louis of Osgood, Ind., Roy, Andrew and John of Cincinnati, Ohio. There are two sisters, Mrs. Frank Sherman and Mrs. John Smith, both from Osgood, Ind.
